Thor's ( Chris Hemsworth) hammer may have been crushed into a hundred little pieces by Hela ( Cate Blachett) in the intense teaser trailer for Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok, however it seems like fans are going to get to see Mjolnir again as soon as Thor and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) return to help the Avengers fight the Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers Infinity War.
Though concept art for the superhero team-up film had initially led fans to believe that Thor Hammer would be smashed forever, a new image suggests that the weapon would make a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Posted on the official Instagram account of The Russo Brothers, the photo shared on the social media site shows Joe Russo at work, directing a scene at Durham Cathedral. Behind him is a priest holding Mjolnir, and with a caption reading "Worthy" there isn't any clue as to how it ends up in his hands.
Check out the image down below:
How is Thor's hammer fixed? And how does it end up with a Priest in a cathedral that looks very much like it could belong in Asgard? While this could be a flashback, fans would definitely want to see the hammer return to Thor. We'll just have to wait and see.
Avengers: Infinity War premieres on May 4, 2018 while Thor: Ragnarok comes smashing through theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
