Avengers: Infinity War already started production this month, and since the first teaser was revealed last weekend, a few interesting details about the highly-anticipated crossover film have been shared. It's already been told that Thanos (Josh Brolin) is considered the main character in the film, and now we know his main goal.
In the comics, Thanos' reason behind his universal destruction is so he could win the affection of Death, but it looks like his motivations will be different in the film. In the Doctor Strange Blu-Ray released this week, Avengers: Infinity War co-screenwriter Stephen McFreely discusses what makes the Mad Titan tick.
"His goal is to re-balance the universe as he sees it. So when he figures out that the Infinity Stones could do this for him at the snap of a finger, that becomes his main goal," McFeely explains.
"To re-balance the universe" could mean what happened in the comics when Thanos used the Infinity Gauntlet, and obviously, it doesn't look good for the MCU superheroes.
