Netlfix Cancels Sense8 Along With A Bunch Of Other Shows

Just when the Wachowskis were getting their feet back on the ground, Netflix officially pulls the plug on international sci-fi series, Sense8. The series had run for two seasons, and it will be hacked alongside a bunch of other shows like Marco Polo, Hemlock Grove, Bloodline, and Longmire.

Netflix president of original content Cindy Holland had this to say about the show ending:

"After 23 episodes, 16 cities and 13 countries, the story of the Sense8 cluster is coming to an end… "

It is everything we and the fans dreamed it would be: bold, emotional, stunning, kick ass, and outright unforgettable… Never has there been a more truly global show with an equally diverse and international cast and crew, which is only mirrored by the connected community of deeply passionate fans all around the world. We thank Lana, Lilly, Joe and Grant for their vision, and the entire cast and crew for their craftsmanship and commitment."

Weeks before the initial announcement, cast member Brian J. Smith had a trending hashtag on Twitter #RenewSense8, but it's obvious that the campaign didn't do anything. A lot of people consider it odd for Netflix to cancel a bunch of shows since the streaming giant has always been pushing original scripted content. I guess art has its limits.

You can still check out Sense8 season 2 on Netflix.
