Netflix's The Witcher was a hit among fans and subscribers and is even on track to become the streaming service's biggest series debut ever. Given the massive popularity that the show has gained, it looks like Netflix already has plans for a new film to tie into the series.
According to a report from Redanian Intelligence, a new animated film will reportedly be developed by Netflix. There have been various rumors that circled around months ago which suggest that an animated project will be in the works. And now, reports claim that the upcoming film will be titled The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.
For now, this is still a rumor but Redanian Intelligence pointed out that an entry from the Guild of America shows that Beau DeMayo, writer for the third episode of The Witcher's first season, wrote the said animated project. Details are yet to be revealed about the rumored film, but it is believed that the project will be released ahead of The Witcher's second season.
As for The Witcher Season 2, the series is set to return sometime in 2021. Showrunner Lauren HIssrich revealed that there will be a new set of "fun characters" to be introduced in the show. And of course, the second season will be focused on how Ciri, Geralt, and Yennefer would work out their relationship and find safety with each other.
