Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny just got a new powerful trailer. A project of Netflix and The Weinstein Company, the film’s trailer features same mixture of breathtaking martial-arts choreography and historical drama that made the original a massive hit and eventual contender at the Oscars.
See the trailer for yourself:
Directed by renowned fight choreographer Yuen Woo-Ping (Kill Bill, The Matrix, Kung Fu Hustle, The Grandmaster), Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny sees the return of actress Michelle Yeoh as Yu Shu Lien. She will be joined by Donnie Yen (Silent Wolf), Harry Shum, Jr. (Tiefang), Ngo Thanh Van (Mantis), Jason Scott Lee (Hades Dai), Eugenia Yuan (Blind Enchantress), and Roger Yuan (Iron Crow), among others.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny tells an epic story of lost love, young love, a legendary sword and one last opportunity at redemption, set against breathtaking action in an epic martial arts battle between good and evil that will decide the fate of the Martial World.
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon impressed at the Oscars in 2001. The film became one of the few foreign films to have received a Best Picture nominations and it has remained one of the highest-grossing foreign-language film released in the U.S. The movie became an icon in martial arts films, so it’s not surprising that a sequel had been made. What’s surprising to me though is how it took this long for the sequel to finally be released.
Whatever the reason is, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny looks like it has stunning visuals and an interesting plot which will make the movie worth watching.
