Netflix Has No Plans For Sabrina/Riverdale Crossover

Riverdale has continued being a hit for the CW, so it's really clear why there is plenty of hype for the upcoming spinoff show The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The show will be premiering on Netflix sometime this year, with the lead star recently being cast. While the show hasn't even premiered yet, there are plenty of fans who are looking forward to an eventual crossover between the two shows.

Fans will have to be patient though, as there are currently no plans to have a crossover between the two.

Speaking with Archie Digest: A Riverdale Podcast, CW boss Mark Pedowitz stated that the team working on Sabrina will be focusing on giving the show its own identity. Because of this, there are currently no plans for Sabrina to meet up with Archie and his broody friends, at least not yet.

Here's what Chris Hayner, one of the podcast's co-hosts, had to say about the deal:

"Based on what [Pedowitz] said, they are completely focused on getting Sabrina off the ground on Netflix and not thinking about crossovers at all, but they hope there might be a possibility sometime in the future. But they want to establish Sabrina as its own entity on Netflix before they even start thinking about it."

It might be disappointing news for fans but it makes sense. Establishing a tone and fanbase is important, so when it takes off, that will probably be a good time to make a crossover.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will premiere on Netflix sometime this year.
