Last week, Netflix announced The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, a new anime film that'll tie in with the hit series. While some fans might have assumed that this movie will explore more of Geralt's story, it turns out that this will follow his mentor's adventures instead.

The Nightmare of the Wolf's page on the streaming platform reveals that the movie will focus on Vesermir's origin story. The official description reads: "Long before mentoring Geralt, Vesemir brings his own journey as a witcher after the mysterious Deglan claims him through the Law of Surprise."

Other details about the film are yet to be revealed and it also hasn't been confirmed whether Divergent actor Theo James, who provided Vesemir's voice in the live-action series, will lend his voice in the film as well.

That being said, it has already been revealed that The Witcher showrunner Lauren Hissrich and Beau DeMayo, who wrote the third episode in the first season, are attached to the project. Studio Mir will be animating the highly-anticipated movie.

Nightmare of the Wolf already sounds promising, considering that Andrej Sapkowski's novels and the video game series are yet to explore Vesemir's story prior to becoming Geralt‘s mentor.
