Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens Gets Picked Up By Amazon

There still might not be any update on the film adaptation of Neil Gaiman's Sandman Vertigo graphic novel series, but that doesn't mean the gears aren't shifting for other adaptations of the prolific English writer's works.

The highly-anticipated television adaptation of Gaiman's American Gods will be premiering on Starz this year, and now new reports indicate that another of the Hugo award-winning writer's works will be making it to the small screen. According to a report by Screenrant, Amazon has just made an official announcement revealing a new miniseries adaptation of Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's collaborative novel, Good Omens.

Cut into six parts written by Gaiman, Amazon has given the writer the role of producer on the miniseries which is expected to come out on Amazon's streaming service sometime next year.

Here's Gaiman's comment on the announcement:

"Almost 30 years ago, Terry Pratchett and I wrote the funniest novel we could about the end of the world, populated with angels and demons… Three decades later, it's going to make it to the screen. I can't think of anyone we'd rather make it with than BBC Studios, and I just wish Sir Terry were alive to see it."

With American Gods seeing release this year under producer Bryan Fuller and Good Omens set for 2018, it seems like Gaiman fans have a lot to look forward starting now.
