Mysterio And Kraven Spinoffs In Sony’s Plans

Spider-Man fans may get their own Mysterio and Kraven the Hunter standalone films from Sony pretty soon. Though Marvel's been busy having the studio's new Spider-Man (Tom Holland) play around in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony's been also preoccupied building up its own series Spider-Man related comicbook film projects.

Not only is the studio working on a Venom movie with Tom Hardy as its lead, but it's also working on a Silver and Black standalone. Now, Sony's also thinking of a couple of other standalones - one for Mysterio and one for Kraven the Hunter.

Writing about Sony's relationship with Marvel, The Hollywood Reporter discussed the studio's future plans, casually mentioning projects centered on the two Spider-Man villains. According to the site, sources have said that Sony's plan is to build their cinematic universe slowly instead of launching one straight away.

Without any other films set after Venom and Silver and Black, it's very likely that Sony has the Mysterio and Kraven the Hunter standalones lined up next. There's no word as to when both of the film's are scheduled for release, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.

Venom on the other hand, already has a date of release and comes hitting cinemas on October 5, 2018.
