Mulan's Voice Actress Might Have A Role In The Live-Action Film

Ming-Na Wen may be currently known as Melinda May in Marvel's Agents of SHIELD series, but she is actually the voice behind the protagonist of Disney's classic animated film, Mulan. Ming-na is actually very excited that Mulan will be getting a live-action adaptation next year, and the actress wants in!

In an interview with ET, Ming-Na revealed that she had actually been having talks with Disney about being in the moive. She says:

"I would love to have a part in it in some way … We'll see — knock on wood!"

A lot of fans also want her to come back as well. Granted, the actress is already 52-years-old, she may not be young enough to play Mulan anymore. She is, however, very enthusiastic about the live-action Disney remakes.

"I'm very excited that they want to do a live-action because they've done so amazingly with all of the movies — from Maleficent, to Beauty and the Beast, to Cinderella. I'm really looking forward to the live-action … I know the fans really want it and love it. And some of them even go, ‘Well, why don't you just play Mulan?' And I'm like, ‘Yeah, if it's Mulan: The Later Years.'"

Aside from playing Mulan herself, I think there's a bunch of fun roles that Ming-Na could portray in the remake. For one, she can play Mulan's mother, but I think a role that would be more fun for her to play is the Matchmaker. It's like Ming-Na would be "judging" her own replacement in the movie.

The live-action Mulan is being directed by Niki Caro is slated to hit theaters on Nov. 2, 2018.
