Movie Theaters Are Posting Audience Warnings About Specific Star Wars: The Last Jedi Scene

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi

It looks like a specific scene in Star Wars: The Last Jedi has gotten audiences so confused, it's forced AMC theaters to post notices outside the sequel trilogy installment's showings.

Though notices are usually posted for intensely graphic sequences and controversial scenes, AMC's decision to post a few signs warning incoming viewers about The Last Jedi revolves entirely around a specific scene with a deafening ten-second bout of silence.

Those who've already seen The Force Awakens sequel do know that in the later part of the movie Admiral Holdo decides to sacrifice herself to save the resistance escape pods from being destroyed by The Supremacy before they can even reach Crait. Turning her cruiser around, the Admiral decides to hyperdrive straight into Snoke's ship, cutting right through its wing. The collision is massive, and the cinema explodes in an epic scene of baroque light. Emphasizing the power of that sacrificial moment, The Last Jedi drowns in silence that goes on for about 10 seconds.

While most would understand the reason why director Rian Johnson would use the quiet to add power and depth to the sequence, the lack of sound has left some fans confused, and it seems like AMC has decided to go ahead and warn their viewers about it ahead of time.

Here's the notice they put up outside the screening:

It seems like the cinemas been receiving a few complaints about "technical issues" in The Last Jedi, which seems like quite a surprise considering the fact that Johnson's intent in covering the sequence in silence seems pretty clear. Still, it's the first time that fans have gotten to see this kind of silent effect in a Star Wars movie, so there's that.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently screening in cinemas.
