Mortal Kombat's Lewis Tan Reacts to Ryan Reynolds Johnny Cage Casting

In case you missed it, Ryan Reynolds has just admitted that he is interested in playing Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 2. But what does the cast of the film have to say about Reynolds playing the beloved video game character? Lewis Tan had an awesome reaction to his Deadpool 2 co-star possibly joining the franchise.

Reynolds had shared a gif on his official Twitter account that depicts himself as Johnny Cage. The tweet also referenced his company Mint Mobile. Interestingly, Tan retweeted Reynolds' post along with a hilarious reference to Deadpool 2. Check it out below.

"This time I jumped out the plane and survived," Tan wrote before adding the hashtag #MortalKombatMovie.

Sounds familiar? It's a hilarious reference to the ill-fated X-Force in Deadpool 2. Tan, who played Shatterstar in the sequel, was one of the unfortunate members who didn't survive the jump from a plane.

Although we didn't get to see Tan fighting alongside Reynolds in Deadpool 2, there is still a chance that the two actors could work together in the future. After all, Mortal Kombat already teased on Johnny Cage's arrival in a possible sequel. We're hoping that we'll eventually get to see these two working together again soon.

For now, Mortal Kombat 2 has not yet been officially announced by Warner Bros. although it is clear that there are plans for more movies. Stay tuned for more updates on this story. In the meantime, Mortal Kombat is currently screening in theaters worldwide and on HBO Max.
