Mortal Kombat: What Chin Han Could Look Like as Shang Tsung

Shang Tsung is the OG baddie of the Mortal Kombat franchise, and news had just dropped that the film has found someone to play him. While we don't have any official promo photos yet, BossLogic has given us his take on what Chin Han could look like as the soul-stealing sorcerer.

Check it out:

From the back you can see that BL has also added some other characters, but they don't seem to be part of the cast. After all, there hasn't been anyone confirmed for the role of Johnny Cage or Reptile at all. This is also just me, but this look could also pass for the real Mandarin of the MCU—just saying.

With Han not really known for his action prowess, I don't expect his Shang Tsung to do a lot of fighting. The games basically have Tsung morph into other characters, so I expect Han to do a kick or two, then we have him turning into a bunch of different people while he fights. I guess it's more faithful to the game compared to the 90s film where he just resurrects dead guys:

Then again, it's just my speculation. With the film said to be embracing the gory campiness of the franchise, I would at least expect a shapeshifting Shang Tsung.

Besides Han, the movie has cast Joe Taslim (Sub-Zero), Ludi Lin (Liu Kang), Jessica McNamee (Sonya Blade), Josh Lawson (Kano), Tadanobu Asano (Raiden), Mehcad Brooks (Jax Bridges), Hiroyuki Sanada (Scorpion), and Sisi Stringer (Mileena). Lewis Tan is also cast in the film, but no news yet on who his character will be.

Catch Mortal Kombat when it hits theaters March 5, 2021.
