Mortal Kombat Movie Has Found Its Sub-Zero Actor

The upcoming Mortal Kombat movie is finally gaining some momentum after months of, well, nothing. While nothing major has been done, fans will be happy to know that Sub-Zero has been cast. The blue-clad ninja with ice powers has always been a favorite so securing him for the film should be a popular decision; let's just hope that the movie is a good one since there still aren't a lot of good video game ones.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joe Taslim from The Raid will be playing Sub-Zero. Considering all of the impressive martial arts seen in that movie, Taslim is a great choice to play Sub-Zero and his casting could mean some impressive fight scenes for the film. Assuming they hire a good choreographer of course.

Sub-Zero casting aside, we still don't know who else will be in the film or what the story will be about. The problem with a fighting game is that there are so many characters so a Hollywood adaptation of one is going to take some time. Characters like Scorpion, Raiden, and Liu Kang are sure-fire bets, while others like Johnny Cage are less certain.

Here's hoping they cast The Miz as Johnny Cage. That would be perfect casting.

No release date for Mortal Kombat has been announced yet. Meanwhile, fans can get Mortal Kombat 11 right now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
