Mortal Kombat: Here's How Sub-Zero Could Return in Possible Sequel

There is little doubt that Sub-Zero is one of the major players in the Mortal Kombat reboot and the character somehow serves as the Final Boss in the movie. So can we expect the cold assassin to return in a possible sequel? Here's how Sub-Zero could be brought back in Mortal Kombat 2.

In Mortal Kombat 2021, Sub-Zero was one of the first characters to be introduced although we got to see a different version of him. In the opening sequence of the film, we see Bi-Han launch an attack on Hanzo Hasashi's home and kill the latter's wife and son. Interestingly, it is confirmed early on that Bi-Han is cryokinetic.

Although Bi-Han managed to kill Hanzo, he actually failed to fulfill his mission to wipe out the Hasashi bloodline. It was later confirmed that Hanzo's baby daughter survived and that Cole Young is actually Hanzo's descendant. This leads to an epic showdown where Hanzo and Cole work together to defeat Sub-Zero.

Sadly, Mortal Kombat concluded with Sub-Zero's death but we probably haven't seen the last of him just yet. It was already reported that Joe Taslim has signed on to do four more movies so there is a huge possibility that Sub-Zero will be back in the sequel. But how exactly will the character get resurrected?

It's possible that we'll see Taslim playing a different incarnation of Sub-Zero in Mortal Kombat 2. There are speculations that the sequel will introduce Noob Saibot, who was the original Sub-Zero in the games and is revealed to be Bi-Han in Mortal Kombat 11.

For now, it's unclear how we'll get to see Sub-Zero again in action. Nevertheless, we're hoping he'll be back in Mortal Kombat 2.
