Mortal Kombat 11 Gets an Honest Game Trailer

Smosh Games had already done an Honest Game Trailer for the Mortal Kombat franchise, but with NetherRealm pumping out yet another successful entry, Fandom Games can’t help but give us an updated HGT for Mortal Kombat 11.

In a world of blood, battle, and bone-snapping, get ready for another heaping helping of gore, the likes of which you have totally seen before, but this time with… time travel? Yeah, sure; why not. You try to think of something new after 10 of these.

While most video game narratives (especially for fighting games) usually falling by the wayside, this Honest Trailer actually gives props to Mortal Kombat 11 for having a coherent story to follow. If anything, NetherRealm is probably going to be known for perfecting fighting game storytelling, since they’ve been doing a great job since they were making Injustice titles.

What you also have to appreciate is how MK manages to reinvent itself with every installment. If you look at each game, the play-styles have always been different, and NetherRealm always tries its best to try and keep the franchise fresh, despite depending heavily on classic characters. Then again, I’m sure there are some fans who love the new faces that have been introduced to the franchise. If anything, Cassie Cage has come out a fan favorite.

For now, you can play Mortal Kombat 11 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
