Mortal Kombat 11: Gameplay for Shao Kahn Finally Revealed

Bow before your emperor or perish!

Ever since Mortal Kombat 11 was announced, it was revealed that Shao Kahn was going to be a pre-order bonus. With the game so close to release, NetherRealm has finally released a gameplay trailer for the lord of the Outworld.

Though Shao Kahn is known to be one of the most iconic villains in gaming history, he has since taken a backseat in the Mortal Kombat franchise, now coming out as a chaotic force who sides with no one. He was a non-playable boss in MK 9 and had a small cameo in MK X. I'm sure a lot of people will be annoyed that he's a pre-order bonus for MK 11, but I guess some people will just be happy to see that he's playable.

Going back to the gameplay trailer though, we can see some footage for characters who have yet to get their own official reveals. We get a look at Kahn taking on Liu Kang and Kung Lao, and with this game focusing on yet another ‘Evil' Raiden, it's great to see more of the Thunder God in his more noble state.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to come out in barely a week, and I'm guessing the bigger reveals are just going to keep coming. While we do have a lot of them, there are still some characters who have yet to get the spotlight.

Catch Mortal Kombat 11 when it becomes available for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on April 23.
