Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Trailer Confirms New Characters Including… Robocop?!

It was teased yesterday that NetherRealm would give us a look at the continuation of the campaign for Mortal Kombat 11, and now they've revealed Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, which will have a lot to do with the franchise's original villain—Shang Tsung.

Mortal Kombat11: Aftermath expands the critically acclaimed story campaign with an all-new, cinematic narrative centered around trust and deceit, while also adding new playable characters, Fujin, Sheeva, and guys character, RoboCop, who is making his series debut.

As expected, this expansion won't come free, and will run for $39.99. That includes the new campaign and playable characters Sheeva, Robocop, and Raiden's brother Fujin. The good news is, while Aftermath is paid DLC, we're still getting a free update that will bring us new stages the Dead Pool and the Soul Chamber, plus we're going to have stage fatalities back in the game; Friendships will also be added as well.

If you don't own the game and want in on the whole thing though, you can cough up $59.99 for the core game, Kombat Pack 1, and the Aftermath expansion.

I have to say, though the gameplay for MK 11 manages to stay unique to the franchise, I'm kind of annoyed at the several paywalls for expansions, characters, and skins. There isn't even a proper way to build up to things you want in the game because it's dependent on what you find in the Krypt.

Then again, that's just my opinion. I'm sure there are still fans who love everything about this latest version of Mortal Kombat.

The update drops on May 26. Mortal Kombat 11 is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
