More Photos Emerge From Star Wars: Episode VIII Dubrovnik Set

The Star Wars: Episode VIII Dubrovnik set has evolved quickly over the past few days.

Earlier this week, we reported tent photos on the Dubrovnik filming site. The next day, there were already set structures spotted in the city's main street. The day after that, a bunch of new photos immediately appeared showing the same set almost finished. The March 9 filming date is looming nearer and it looks like the production crew is all set and ready to go.

According to The Dubrovnik Times,Star Wars is about to close Dubrovnik's main street for Episode VIII filming. The site also shared photos on the street of the Old City with the Star Wars set taking its full form. Several of the street's shops, including souvenir stores, bakeries, and jewellery boutiques, are now sll sporting sci-fi facades.

A Korean tourist group reportedly shouted "Is this one of the sets for Star Wars...how cool," as they saw the area in Stradun. Meanwhile, shoppers were also spotted trying to enter the shops with the fibreglass sets and pressing fake buttons.

There's expected to be heightened security in the area as announced by the production company. However, only a few security guards were seen in the area.

Filming is expected to take place in the afternoon, with a Stradun waiter telling The Dubrovnik Times that "they have asked us to close the cafe bar at 2 o'clock in the afternoon so that they can film in peace."

Star Wars: Episode VIII filming in Dubrovnik will begin in March 9 and end on the 16^th of the same month. Pedestrians will be told to use a parallel street during dates of filming.

It's always exciting to see how these things go. I wish I could be there to take pictures.
