Mission: Impossible Director Would Consider Man of Steel 2 “If Henry Cavil Asks”

Mission: Impossible –Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie seems to be interested in helming Man of Steel 2 – that is if the DC Extended Universe's Superman himself gave out the invite.

Sitting down to speak with CinePop, McQuarrie was asked whether he'd be interested in directing any kind of comic book movie after Mission: Impossible.

Though the director says that he's "never really thought about it," he does admit that if "I feel like if the story was right and the character was right – I love working with Henry (Cavill), Henry's great."

The publication pressed further about the topic, and McQuarrie replied that he'd be willing to join the DCEU to direct Man of Steel 2.

"If Henry asked me to, sure, why not?" the director responded.

Sure sounds like Cavill and McQuarrie have a good working relationship in Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

For those who have no idea what Cavill's doing in the film, the DCEU star is playing CIA agent August Walker in McQuarrie's upcoming spy movie, facing off against Tom Cruise's bold special ops agent Ethan Hunt. There's been a lot of memes poking at the mustache Cavill had to sport for the role, a detail which led to complications in Justice League.

Though Man of Steel 2 still doesn't seem to have the same level of priority as Warner Brother's other projects like Shazam! and Wonder Woman 2, it'd definitely be interesting to see what McQuarrie might bring to the table.
