Michael Jordan Says T’Challa And Killmonger Share Magneto/Professor X Chemistry In Black Panther

Marvel was pretty busy during San Diego Comic Con last weekend, dropping new trailers for Avengers: Infinity War and Thor: Ragnarok as well as holding panels for its upcoming films. This includes the 2018 Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman's first feature as the King of Wakanda.

Boseman's debut as Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War was lauded by fans, and now everyone's excited to learn more about the character and the enemies he's going to face in his first solo film.

Now, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Michael Jordan decides to tease fans about his character's dynamic with T'Challa. Jordan plays Erik Killmonger in Black Panther and while the character serves mainly as a nemesis to T'Challa, it seems like the supervillain is going to have what Jordan calls a "Magneto/Proffesor X type of chemistry" in the movie.

"Me and T'Challa have two totally different approaches to the throne as well and you see those two opposing sides clash. So you can call it a Magneto/Professor X type of chemistry. That's all I can give away."

A Magneto/Proffesor X chemistry seems like good comparison to the rivalry between Killmonger and T'Challa, seeing how Marvel has been concentrating on the ideological differences between the two characters. There seems to be a lot of complexity to the relationship between the two, and we're certain that it's going to produce a layered and well-fleshed villain in Black Panther.

Black Panther premieres February 16, 2018.
