Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are dealing with some major changes career-wise.

On Sunday, Netflix announced its decision to cancel Markle’s upcoming animated series, Pearl, as part of the streaming platform’s efforts to streamline its content. Netflix also lost a growing number of users, that’s why they are trying to come up with changes that would benefit their business long-term.

Following their decision, there are whispers that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could think of other ways how they could reach their audience. It is important to note that the Duke of Sussex’s project with Netflix about the Invictus Games will still push through.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Might Return To The United Kingdom And Stay There For 6 Months

During a recent interview, royal expert Kinsey Schofield told Express that it’s possible for Prince Harry and Markle to want to return to the United Kingdom and become part-time royals now that the latter has more free time.

“I think they would be willing to come back and live there for six months. We see that Prince Harry is not willing to give up Frogmore Cottage. His life is there, his friends are there, and his blood is there. I do think that Harry and Meghan would be eager to go back and explore that option,” she said.

As of writing, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are still residing at Frogmore Cottage, which was loaned to them by Prince Harry and Markle.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Could Reportedly Return As Part-Time Royals

But even if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might be open to the idea of returning to the United Kingdom to become part-time royals, Schofield said that the opportunity may not be readily available for them.

“I don’t think it’s going to be immediately available to them. It’s been hinted that perhaps this is something they plan to pursue after Prince Charles ascends to the throne and I think that that would be too soon because there’s already a critical tone when it comes to King Charles and I don’t think that this would necessarily improve the criticism,” the royal expert said.

In March, royal author Tom Quinn discussed the possibility of Prince Harry and Markle being allowed to return as part-time royals when Prince Charles ascends the throne.

“Meghan and Harry believe that when the elder royals die—in other words, Elizabeth—they may well be able, when Charles is king, be able to come back and be the part-time royals that they really wanted to be. So that they would be six months [being] working royals and six months in the States or wherever doing their own thing,” Quinn said (via Cosmopolitan).

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Decided To Finalize Their Megxit Last Year

In 2020, Prince Harry and Markle released a statement announcing their decision to quit The Firm. The Duke of Sussex revealed that he and his wife offered their services to Queen Elizabeth remotely, but the monarch declined.

Her Majesty also released a statement saying that she will be giving the couple one year to decide whether their decision would be permanent. And last year, Prince Harry and Markle pushed through with their decision.

As such, it’s possible for the couple to not be allowed to return to The Firm as part-time royals. But only time will tell.
