As fans wait for Mega Man 11, they will be happy to know that Capcom has announced the release date for the Mega Man X Legacy Collection. The collection was first announced during the special livestream that eventually announced the arrival of the 11th game in the franchise. Gamers can now take solace in the fact that this collection will be out on July 24.

Like the Legacy Collection for the classic Mega Man games, this will be divided into two games. Mega Man X Legacy Collection collects Mega Man X till Mega Man X4, which many fans say are the best installments in the franchise. Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 will have X5 until X8. Though this has X7, the worst game in the series, it also has X8, which many say is a fairly underrated game.

It's not just games, as these collections will also have a ton of extras that fans will enjoy. Both Legacy Collections will have The Day of E, an original OVA that explored Sigma's origins and how Mavericks came to be. There will also be character sketches, various illustrations, and all of the trailers released for each game.

Then there's X Challenge, which lets players pick three weapons throughout the series and take on pairs of bosses from all of the X games. Chill Penguin and Frost Walrus are the first duo shown, with more likely to come.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection and Legacy Collection 2 come out on July 24 for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The games are US$19.99 each, with a bundle collection for US$39.99.
