Marvel’s The Punisher Welcomes Three New Cast Members

Now that Marvel's Luke Cage has already premiered, all eyes have turned to Netflix's other show in development, Marvel's The Punisher.

Marvel Television is fast at picking up the pace when it comes to development of the series. In fact, three new cast members have been announced.

While we all know that the teaser from Marvel's Daredevil featuring Jon Bernthal as The Punisher hints that he is coming back for his own show, he's no longer alone in the cast list.

Over the official Marvel website, it's confirmed that Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia) will play the role of Billy Russo, Castle's best friend during his day at the Special Forces. Girls' Ebon Moss-Bachrach will also be in the show as former NSA analyst Micro.

Finally Indian Summers' Amber Rose Revah will be Dinah Madani, a Homeand Security agent who will probably clash heads with The Punisher more than once during the series.

"I'm really excited about the cast we're assembling alongside Bernthal as Frank Castle. I look forward to watching Ben, Ebon, and Amber embody these characters and breathe vivid life into the story we are crafting for this season of Marvel's The Punisher."

Steve Lightfoot, most known for his work in Hannibal, is set to write the first two episodes of the show. He will be writing in tandem as showrunner and executive producer alongside Jim Chory and Jeph Loeb, both of whom have had some hand in the different Marvel TV series.

Marvel's The Punisher is the sixth series collaboration between Marvel Television and Netflix. There's no word yet on when the release date for the new series will be.
