Marvel's The Inhumans Casts Game of Thrones Alum Iwan Rheon as the Show's Lead

Marvel Television has announced that they've cast Game of Thrones alum Iwan Rheon as Maximus, the lead character in the upcoming The Inhumans TV show.

Maximus, often called Maximus the Mad, is the brother of the king of Inhumans, Black Bolt. The casting announcement describes his character as "fiercely devoted" to the Inhuman people, their kingdom of Attilan, and his brother, though he desires the throne for himself."

"Iwan's ability to be charming, roguish and still completely unexpectedly dangerous were all the different sides we needed to bring the character to life," Executive producer Jeph Loeb said. "We're thrilled to have him on board,"

The Inhumans acquire their special powers after being exposed to the Terrigen Mist and undergoing Terrigenesis. Maximus's power is subtle mind control. He's also a naturally gifted inventor and scientist.

Scott Buck, the Dexter alum who serves as the executive producer and writer of the show, said:"Maximus is a complex character. Likable, charming, tragic and villainous all in the same moment, and I'm very excited to have someone of Iwan's considerable talent,"

Rheon is best known for playing the villainous Ramsay Bolton in Game of Thrones. Prior to that, he starred in the British series Misfits. This is the first casting announcement for The Inhumans.

Rheon is the perfect choice to play the character. Weeks before the announcement, I saw a lot of fans on Reddit who voted for Rheon to play the character in the upcoming Marvel series, and now, their dreams have come true, and I can't wait to see him play the lead role.
