Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Addresses Ironheart’s Arrival In The MCU

There's been a lot of fans wondering whether or not Ironheart might join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the franchise enters a new age of cinema.

Ever since the death of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) in Avengers: Endgame, Marvel fans have been wondering about the heroes replacement. Would Tony Stark's daughter succeed him as the new Iron Man or would Marvel try to bring in Riri Williams as Iron Heart?

Attending a gala for Gene Siskel Film Center, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige got to speak with BET about Marvel's plans for Iron Man's successor. While the Marvel producer agrees that Ironheart is definitely a great character, Feige seems to suggest that Riri Williams' introduction would happen long into the future if it were to happen at all.

"I think it's a great character, and it's been fun to see how she evolves in the comics," Feige told the publication. "I just saw that quote, too. But again, the future..."

Feige has been careful not to give too much away just yet. Marvel doesn't plan to reveal any of its secrets for Phase 4 of the MCU, not until the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home.

After that, fans are expecting some major announcements from Marvel Studios at this year's San Diego Comic-Con International. The studio is returning to Hall H this year, and everyone's expecting some very big reveals at the convention, mostly pertaining to Phase 4 of the MCU.

Let's wait and see.

Spider-Man: Far From Home premieres July 2, 2019.
