Marvel Producer Teases Possibility of TV and Cinematic Universe Crossover

Superheroes featured on Marvel TV and the Marvel Cinematic Universe both have worlds of their own, but that doesn't mean fans can't dream about a universe where these comic book characters collide.

While Marvel Studios has never made any official announcement of any crossover on the silver screen, a new statement from Marvel producer Nate Moore is offering fans a tiny glimmer of hope.

During the Captain America: Civil War set visit by Slash Film, Moore was asked by the publication about the possibility of a Marvel TV and MCU character crossover.

Moore said that while it's hard for story timelines to line up perfectly, the possibility isn't dead:

I think it's possible for sure. It's interesting that the TV timeline and the film timeline moves so differently because they tell stories so quickly because they have 10 to 22 episodes. So sometimes it's just hard for those things to line up perfectly.

The producer even mentioned fan-favorites Jessica Jones and Daredevil:

But we love that idea of ultimately, say a Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Punisher, Agents of SHIELD, maybe there's a way to get ‘em back in there as long as it makes sense for our storytelling and doesn't prohibit them from telling a story. We say ‘oh, this happened to Daredevil somewhere in the future' and they go ‘Well, that's not what the TV show wants us to do.'

However, Moore said that they haven't found a way to execute the concept of the crossover:

We don't want that to start to feel like there's friction so we haven't figured out how to do it but we'd love to do it.

It's not an official confirmation, but it is something. As the saying goes, "Never say never."

Who doesn't want to see characters like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Daredevil brushing arms with the likes of Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, or even Marvel characters from outer space like Thor, Thanos, and Star Lord? Even Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter herself thinks it would be "awesome to team up with MCU's Iron Man."

Once this idea actually gets approved, the possibilities are endless.

Marvel's Captain America: Civil War will premiere on May 6.

Meanwhile, Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 will hit theaters on May 4, 2018, Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 on May 3, 2019, and Daredevil Season 2 returns to Netflix on March 18.
