Marvel President Kevin Fiege Says R-Rated Movies Aren’t “Out Of The Question”

Logan certainly made some comicbook studios start thinking of adding a few changes to its films after the R-rated movie raked in a lot of positive reviews from audiences and a lot of great results at the box office.

Now, speaking with AlloCine (via MCU Exchange) in an effort to promote next month's Spider-Man: Homecoming, Marvel President Kevin Feige reveals that the MCU could probably have its own R-rated comicbook movie. When asked by the publication what the studio's thinking of R-rated films, Feige replies:

"Currently we don't work on R-Rated movies, it's not out of the question but currently, no."

Phase 3 doesn't have any R-Rated films, of course, but that doesn't mean that things won't change once the Marvel Cinematic Universe starts moving on with Phase 4 or starts playing around more with the Marvel cosmic universe. For now, Marvel is enjoying its films ratings which allow a four-quadrant audience to attend and enjoy the movies. With a lot of humor and hard-packed action, the studio is used to feeding off the love of children, teens, adults and senior citizens, making sure that its films are watchable by all. But after Infinity War, the studio may start thinking of the power of R-rated comicbook movies and start playing with their own.

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits cinemas on July 7, 2017.
