Marvel President Kevin Feige Rumored To Take Kathleen Kennedy’s Place In Lucasfilm

Last year, Lucasfilm surprised fans when it announced that it had hired Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige to produce a film for everyone's favorite galaxy far, far away. No one really expected Feige to produce for Star Wars. Marvel has a whole lot of work to do now that Avengers: Endgame is over – the studio has so many films planned for Phase 4 and Phase 5 of the franchise.

However, as unlikely as it seemed at the time, Lucasfilm confirmed that Feige would be boarding the Star Wars franchise as a producer for the next Star Wars movie.

Now, a new report by We Got This Covered suggests that Feige may sign on with Lucasfilm once his contract with Marvel comes to end. Sources say that Feige plans to move on towards a different franchise once he's done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, as this might be for Star Wars fans, Marvel has yet to comment on these rumors. It is also largely unclear when Feige's contract will come to an end.

Of course, while we've yet to wait for a confirmation from Marvel itself, everyone knows that Feige has always been a huge fan of the Star Wars franchise. The Marvel Studios President has mentioned how much he adores the galaxy far, far away, and he's done it on more than one occasion. It wouldn't be hard to imagine Feige taking over Kathleen Kennedy's place as the President of Lucasfilm once the former and the latter's contracts with their respective studios expire.

Marvel is set to premiere its first Phase 4 movie, Black Widow, on May 1, 2020.
