Marvel Movies Captain America, Deadpool Win Big at Teen Choice Awards 2016

The winners are out for the Teen Choice Awards 2016. From the looks of it, some notable Marvel movies and cast found their way in the winning spot.

In the movies department, the Choice Movie for Action/Adventure went to, not surprisingly, Deadpool. The Merc with the Mouth's fan-favorite movie directed by Tim Miller won out the likes of The Divergent Series: Allegiant, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, Spectre, and The Jungle Book (winning list care of Entertainment Weekly).

Sadly, even though Ryan Reynolds was nominated for the titular role for Choice Movie Actor for the same genre, he was beaten by Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' Dylan O'Brien.

Winning the Choice Movie for Sci-Fi/Fantasy was Captain America: Civil War. It went against some odds, including Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, The Huntsman: Winter's War, Fantastic Four, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. For the Choice Movie Actor for the same genre, Chris Evans also managed a win.

I guess it's worth a mention that the two movies also had some other nominations, even though they didn't get the win. Deadpool's Brianna Hildebrand was nominated as Choice Movie Breakout Star. Who could forge her role—and that mouthful name—as Negasonic Teenage Warhead?

In the same category, X-Men: Apocalypse's Alexandra Shipp was also nominated. She played the role of the mohawked Storm a.k.a. Ororo Munroe in the film.

For the Choice Movie Actresses for Action/Adventure and Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Monica Baccarin and Scarlett Johansson were nominated for Deadpool and Captain America: Civil War respectively.

Robert Downey Jr. was also nominated for Choice Movie Actor for Captain America: Civil War, though I guess that's one battle The Cap won out fair and square.
