It was recently reported that Scott Derrickson made his exit from the upcoming movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Set for a 2021 release, Marvel fans are quite disappointed with the news, especially since the audience loved the director's work on the first movie.

According to the report, Derrickson and Marvel Studios have parted ways due to "creative differences." The director also shared the news on his Twitter account, saying that he is thankful for their collaboration and that he'll still remain as the film's Executive Producer.

Of course, this news came as a shock to the fans but they are hoping that the movie's production in the near future would go well. You can check out some of the fans' reactions below:

It is unfortunate that Derrickson has left the project, and for now, there is no news with regards to any director who will take his place. In the meantime, fans could only wait and see what Marvel Studios eventually ends up deciding for the highly-anticipated sequel.

Multiverse of Madness is said to have scary sequences in it. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has previously mentioned that Derrickson is "quite good" at making something scary, but not in a torturous way. With the exit of Derrickson, it is likely that the studio would get someone familiar with horror as well.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is due for release on May 5, 2021
