Marvel Celebrates Luke Cage Debut on Netflix with Live Concert


The Netflix original Marvel's Luke Cage is almost here. To celebrate, Marvel has announced an evening of music themed with its new superhero.

Dubbed as the Marvel's Luke Cage: The Live Score, the musical event will happen on Oct. 6, 8:00 p.m. at The Theatre at Ace Hotel.

The special concert event will be presented by ArtDontSleep, and it will feature the masterpieces of the likes of David Axelrod, Ennio Morricone, Wu Tang Clan, and A Tribe Called Quest. The entire event will be executed by a 40-piece orchestra. Miguel Atwood-Ferguson will serve as he conductor. Russell Peters and Wayne Brady will host the show, while the opening act will be care of No I.D.

Marvel's Luke Cage is set to run for 13 episodes starting Sept. 13 via Netflix. Luke Cage, who will be portrayed by Mike Colter, is an ex-con who was part of a botched experiment. As with similar superhero origin stories, this experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin—facets that he will use to clear his name and save his neighborhood.

Tickets for the Marvel's Luke Cage: The Live Score concert is already available for preorders on Sept. 24. For fans who want the digital soundtrack of the first season of the series, the company is also releasing one via digital retailers or streaming services on Oct. 7.
