Marvel is producing some artistic new boxes for comic book fans to stash their stuff in, CBR reports. These brand new Marvel "graphic boxes" were announced with the December comic book solicitations. These are modified versions of the classic white "shortboxes" that fans traditionally but their comics in.

The first product advertised is a black box plastered with an illustration of the Champions, the new teenage superhero team that will emerge post Civil War II. The characters included in the picture are Nova, Ms. Marvel, Viv Vision, Amadeus Cho (The Totally Awesome Hulk) and the Miles Morales version of Spider-Man. The art by Humberto Ramos is from the first issue of the new Champions title.

The boxes are 15 1/2 inches long. This means they'll hold roughly 200 comics. They're $5.00 apeice. Here's the official description:

Welcome to the Marvel Age of Comic Boxes! Store your treasured collection in sturdy surroundings every bit as exciting as the issues inside! Featuring action-packed illustrations on all sides from some of comics' finest artists, Marvel's Graphic Comic Boxes will star all your Marvel Universe favorites – beginning with the brightest super sensations of their generation, the Champions! Change the world – or at the very least, your comics collection – with Marvel Graphic Comic Boxes!

It's nice to see a new kind of comic box. I wonder what other characters will be featured on future boxes. What do you think? Do you like the product? Who do you want on the next box?
