Mark Hamill Shaves Jedi Beard, Teases Episode IX

The time has finally come for Mark Hamill to shave his Jedi beard, the man himself revealed in a tweet. Hamill isn't huge on the facial hair apparently, but they're important for a grizzled Jedi's image, so he grew one for his appearance as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

He also aparrently needed the facial hair for his appearance in Star Wars: Episode VIII. As he says in his tweet, he hasn't seen his chin since 2015! You can check it out below, along with a video of the shave.

The "at least until Episode IX" part of the tweet that's most interesting. Does this mean Luke is definitely appearing in Episode IX of the series? Or is Hamill just saying that to quell speculation that shaving his beard means he won't be in that movie?

Whatever the case, this confirms Hamill doesn't need to do any reshoots for Episode VIII. Filming wrapped up a month ago and Hamill must now be in the clear. He can now shave his beard without fear!

What do you make of the tweet? Do you think Luke will appear in Episode IX? Do you want him to? What are your thoughts on beards, hmm?
