Mark Hamill Shares His Favorite Star Wars: The Last Jedi Luke Skywalker Theory

Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) might have sacrificed himself for the sake of the Resistance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but some fans still believe that the Jedi Master remains alive and well in Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away. Hamill seemingly feels the same way.

Speaking in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on the red carpet of the 90th Academy Awards last weekend, the Star Wars legend decided to go over his favorite theory on the disappearance of Luke in The Last Jedi one more time for the news outlet.

"My favorite is the fact that maybe he transported to somewhere else," Hamill said. "And I thought, 'Well if he left his robes behind he'd have to go to a nudist colony.'"

Some Star Wars fans might take the theory seriously, but Hamill's also been known to bring out his inner Joker when dealing with the Star Wars fan base. Some might want to believe that Luke was actually transported to a different place but we doubt that Lucasfilm would want Star Wars: Episode IX showing Luke at some sort of nudist planet. Besides, Luke's end in The Last Jedi was poetic – the Jedi Master gave up his life taking a stand for the Resistance, facing down his nephew Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and then fading into the Force in the face of a twin sunset on Ahch-To.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi's digital release hits March 13 while its Blu-Ray and DVD release comes out on March 27.
