Warning: Don't read any further if you don't want any potential spoilers for Star Wars Episode 8.
With a new Star Wars film comes new mysteries, and The Force Awakens is no stranger to ambiguities. Several intriguing character stories are Kylo Ren's origin, Snoke's true identity and Rey's parentage, which is the most talked about.
There have been several plausible fan theories about Rey's parents, one of which is that she's Luke Skywalker's daughter. However, a new tweet from Luke Skywalker himself may have suggested otherwise.
The latest speculation took place after Hamill responded to fans asking about Luke's sexuality.
The 64-year-old actor claimed that "Sexuality is never directly addressed in the film."
Hamill taking the time to respond to fans of the LGBT community is a sweet gesture, but he may have revealed a little too much inadvertently.
According to Movie Pilot,The Force Awakens has introduced discussion about possible LGBT characters in the franchise. Many are asking whether there would be some in Episode 8 and 9, but others are also questioning whether characters from the original trilogy aren't straight.
Since Hamill suggested that Luke's sexuality is up for audience interpretation, Luke could be anything, which means he could be no more than a mentor to Rey in Star Wars Episode 8.
With all the Star Wars theories and rumors on the internet, nothing is surprising anymore. We'll know for sure whether Rey is Luke's daughter, or if he ever had a daughter at all when Star Wars: Episode VIII hits theaters on December 15, 2017.
