Though some fans might not really like the idea of a pairing between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Ren (Adam Driver) in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy, the two shared a deep connection in The Last Jedi, communicating through the Force and sharing moments in the film.
The film might not have given a concrete scene confirming their romantic connection, however the chemistry between the Rey and Ren was so palpable that Star Wars legend Mark Hamill joked about the two sharing a "sex scene" in The Force Awakens sequel.
"Not to mention the big sex scene where the fingers touch. That's pretty hot for a Star Wars movie," Hamill said jokingly in an interview with Fandango. "They never let me touch a finger."
Star Wars has always been a family friendly-franchise. Han and Leia's relationship in the original trilogy was a bit rough during A New Hope, and it was only when the tension started growing thicker in The Empire Strikes Back that the two started sharing PG-13 and family friendly kisses.
Of course, while Rey and Ren's little moment in The Last Jedi didn't seem sexual, the scene was filled with so much chemistry that fans can't help but wonder whether Episode IX might continue exploring the romantic angle between the two.
