Let's all be honest. Mark Hamill basically disappeared from the big screens after working on Star Wars, and he's been making a living as an accomplished voice actor ever since. With the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, however, Hamill's career has found a new type of rejuvenation, and we're getting to see more of Hamill popping up in movies again. His latest achievement? Finally receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Hamill posted this tweet after Disney announced that he'll be receiving a star alongside Lin-Manuel Miranda, Zoe Saldana, and Jeff Goldblum:
I have to admit, I thought that Hamill already had a star on the Walk, being such an icon in pop-culture; at least now he gets the appreciation from Hollywood that he deserves. Then again, the Walk of Fame doesn't really qualify anyone for being a Hollywood icon. Carrie Fisher doesn't have a star, and neither does George Lucas.
I just like seeing Hamill getting back on the spotlight again. Unlike Harrison Ford, Hamill seems to be embracing his place in pop-culture, and he's always a delight online. Then again, Ford must be sick and tired of everyone walking up to him and asking him about Han Solo or Indiana Jones every damn day.
Mark Hamill finally takes the spotlight in the sequel trilogy when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters Dec. 15.
