The original Captain Marvel just might be making an appearance in Carol Danver's Captain Marvel.
According to a report by The MCU Exchange, sources say that Kree hero Mar-Vell might show up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Captain Marvel. Apparently Brie Larson's first feature film as the genetically modified Carol Danvers will stay true to Captain Marvel's origin story, and though it's fairly uncertain how much of Mar-Vell will fans get to see in the film, many are expecting involvement with the Kree-Skull war which is at the center of the movie.
That's not all. The publication also suggests that Captain Marvel will also include a version of the Kree Psyche-Magnitron (a powerful but outlawed Kree Weapon) when telling the origin of Carol's powers in the upcoming film.
Now, while some are definitely excited about the prospect of seeing Mar-Vell in Captain Marvel, fans ought to take the report with a grain of salt. Nicole Perlman, the writer of the upcoming superheroine-led Marvel movie, had previously told fans that they'd be making a few changes to Carol Danver's origins and this new report comes in straight opposition with the announcement. Let's wait for Marvel's official confirmation just to be sure.
Captain Marvel hits cinemas March 8, 2019.
