Magic: The Gathering Throne of Eldraine Deluxe Edition Sell Out in Less Than 6 Hours

Another expensive premium Magic: The Gathering product just sold out a few hours after it was released, and Wizards of the Coast most likely made millions today.

Earlier today, Wizards of the Coast released the Throne of Eldraine Deluxe Edition box at the official MTG online store for $450 USD each, and within six hours, the product is now sold out, according to the official MTG Facebook page.

"Throne of Eldraine Deluxe Collection is gone!" Wizards of the Coast announced. "If you believe you have any issues with your order to resolve, please contact Game Support as soon as you're able"

Considering how fast the premium editions for previous Magic sets sold out quickly, it's not surprising to see that the Throne of Eldraine Deluxe Edition sold out within hours. Compared to the previous premium products, however, the Throne of Eldraine Deluxe Edition was made available outside of U.S. and Canada so even though there's a limit of one-per-person for each product, many consumers from various countries outside of North America ordered the Deluxe Edition. Wizards of the Coast didn't reveal how many products they sold but it's probably less than 15,000 boxes.

This product includes some of the best MTG collectibles from the new set including a non-foil version of "Kenrith, the Returned King" (buy-a-box promo) and a borderless "Garruk, Cursed Huntsman", a art print of Garruk, a three-by-three cutout from a rare and mythic Throne of Eldraine foil sheet, an Ultra Pro binder, and 16 Collector Boosters.

Compared to the Deluxe Editions of previous sets, the Throne of Eldraine Deluxe Edition is $200 more expensive because of the 16 Collector boosters (originally expected to be $20-$25 each but now in retail for $35 each) and non-card collectibles (the binder and art print). The Collector boosters contain extended-art borderless cards and Showcase cards (alternate versions of Adventure cards).

The store used the same queuing system as the sale of the San Diego Comic-Con promos Wizards used earlier this month. This product will be limited one-per-person and and will ship internationally to Japan, Australia, South Korea, New Zealand in the APAC region, US, Canada, and 23 countries in Europe.

Throne of Eldraine, the 82nd Magic expansion, is set to release on October 4. It's now available on Magic Arena.
