Wizards of the Coast has announced that the official release date of the Secret Lair: Ultimate Edition 2 has been moved to May 7 from March 5 due to production issues.

The Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair: Ultimate Edition 2 drop contains all 10 Pathway MDFCs (Modal Double-Faced Cards), and they will exlusively be available for purchase at Wizards Play Network (WPN). Featuring full-art foil cards from ten MTG artists, the six Pathway MDFCs printed in Zendikar Rising will showcase art featuring the plane of Kaldheim; and the four Pathway lands from the upcoming Kaldheim set will feature the plane of Zendikar.

The production issues were mostly caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which also affected the release of several Magic: The Gathering products last year, including Jumpstart and previous Secret Lair drops.

Wizards of the Coast previously said that more copies of the MTG Secret Lair: Ultimate Edition 2 are expected to get printed than the first Secret Lair: Ultimate Edition. Just like the first Ultimate Edition Secret Lair, Ultimate Edition 2 will come with a commemorative box that can be used for display. Due to issues presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, there's a chance that some boxes are black and others are dark gray, but says that there are no differences between the two other than the box color.

The Secret Lair: Ultimate Edition 2 drop will now officially be released on May 7.
