Magic: The Gathering Kaldheim Trailer Has Yet To Be Released

Earlier this month, Wizards of the Coast released the official teaser for the upcoming Norse mythology-inspired Magic: The Gathering set, Kaldheim, but according to Magic head designer Mark Rosewater, the official trailer "has yet to be released."

On his Blogatog, Rosewater was asked when the official trailer will be released, to which he responded, "It already came out. Check YouTube", but added, "Apparently, I was thinking of the teaser. The trailer has yet to be released."

The quick teaser gives us a glimpse of the Viking plane of Kaldheim, and a legendary weapon of "unimaginable chaos". The video also revealed the return of the half-devil, half-human planeswalker, Tibalt. While the teaser gave us a glimpse of the lore's main villain and the dangerous legendary weapon, it didn't flesh out the story details as much as the official Zendikar Rising trailer. It looks like the official trailer aims to show us more of Magic's Viking world, and Tibalt's nefarious plans to become a god. Hopefully, it will also feature the gods of Kaldheim.

The official trailer will most likely be released before the set's digital release later this month, so expect Wizards to hype up Kaldheim with it. The teaser was just a minute-and-fifteen seconds long so the trailer will probably be longer than that. With the set's metal theme, it will most likely feature a metal soundtrack.

What do you expect to see in the official Kaldheim trailer? We'll update you here on EpicStream.com once the trailer launches.

Kaldheim is set to release on February 5, 2021 for tabletop, and Jan. 28 on Magic Arena and Magic Online. The set will be followed by Strixhaven: School of Mages, which is set to release sometime in Spring 2021.
