The Magic: The Gathering core set will return this year just in time for the game's 25th Anniversary, and we're getting it sooner than originally planned. Wizards of the Coast announced that they're moving the launch date of Core Set 2019 a week up to July 13. The original launch date was July 20, 2018.

While the dates for the Core Set 2019 Store Championship (September 15-16) and the 25th Anniversary Pro Tour (August 3-5) remain the same, the change of date causes other dates for the core set to shift up as well. Here are the new dates:

Open House: June 30–July 1, 2018
Prerelease Weekend: July 7–8, 2018
Draft Weekend: July 14–15, 2018
Magic Online Launch: July 9, 2018
On Sale in Magic Online: July 13, 2018

Before the core set, Dominaria will be released on April 27, 2018. We'll update you with details for both sets as soon as they're available.
