Magic: The Gathering Artist Zack Stella is Creating An Accurate Globe of Dominaria

Dominaria is one of the iconic worlds of Magic: The Gathering and it's the setting for the majority of the game's storylines so if there's one plane of the MTG's Multiverse that deserves an actual globe, it's Dominaria. Luckily, Magic artist Zack Stella is making one, and the details look impressively accurate to Dominaria's geography.

Stella shared a photo of his creation on his Twitter account with the caption: "I know you were all clamoring for an update on my #Dominaria globe project. Sometimes a Sunday off is for cartography. #mtgDOM"

According to Stella, the globe is 8" and at this scale, Earth is 5", and the other MTG plane Mirrodin/New Phyrexia is 4.4 mm. Stella probably based this on Pete Vengers's globe, which Nick Bartoletti, one of the 3D artists working at Wizards, photographed from dozens of angles.

The globe looks really accurate to the Dominaria maps Wizards of the Coast showed before. Check out the other map illustrations of Dominaria from Wizards of the Coast:
