Magic: Master of Metal Cover Art Reveals Tezzeret's New Look


BOOM Studios!, the company that acquired comic book rights to Wizards of the Coast's Magic: The Gathering, has revealed the cover for Magic: Master of Metal #1, and it features the infamous and cruel artificer Planeswalker Tezzeret of Esper. The special one-shot issue was written by Mairghread Scottwith art by Jorge Coelho and French Carlomagno; color by Francesco Segala.

The cover art was shared on Twitter, revealing one of the most iconic villains in the lore of Wizards of the Coast's popular trading card game. The main cover art (shown below) was illustrated by fan-favorite artist Junggeun Yoon (Seven Secrets).

There are also variant covers by acclaimed artist Adam Gorham (The Immortal Hulk), and a special Planeswalker connecting variant cover by superstar artist Miguel Mercado (Mighty Morphin) featuring Nahiri.

When the fate of the Multiverse is at stake, what game will the scheming Master of Metal play? Tezzeret of Esper, the cruel artificer now free from his former master Nicol Bolas, the God-Pharaoh of Amonkhet, has traveled across the Multiverse seeking the answer to a question only he knows. Once he finds it, he will manipulate anyone necessary and do whatever it takes to claim his prize... but to what end?

Earlier this year, BOOM! Studios released the company's first Magic: The Gathering comic book series, Magic.

Print copies of Magic: Master of Metal #1 will be available for sale on December 1, 2021 exclusively at local comic book shops or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and Kindle.
