The latest trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story gave us a closer look at Mads Mikkelsen's Galen Erso, the father of the film's protagonist Jyn Erso (played by Felicity Jones). While promoting Marvel's Doctor Strange, Mikkelsen discussed his role with IGN. When he was asked about the guilt that Erso, who played an important role in the construction of the Death Star, must feel, Mikkelsen opened up about his character, and you can watch his response in the video below:
"He's not in a super nice position." Mikkelsen said. "So, I mean, leaving is a big word. I mean he didn't really have a choice. But, I think he's the most guilty man in the world and I think that's been very hard to cope with. But, if there was a way out of there, he would have taken it."
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit theaters on December 16, 2016.
