Luke Skywalker Officially Holds A Lightsaber In International Poster For Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Lucasfilm has been very secretive about whether Luke Skywalker will be wielding a lightsaber in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but a new international poster confirms that Luke will be using one—just not his green lightsaber.

Some leaked merchandise also had Luke wielding his blue lightsaber, and some were still skeptical on whether it was legit or not. With this poster however, it confirms that Luke will indeed be using his old lightsaber from the original trilogy.

Though a lot of fans would have definitely loved to see Luke's green lightsaber from Return of the Jedi come back in this film, I'm starting to get the feeling that he either lost it during Kylo Ren's purge of the new Jedi Academy or he simply threw it away. Either way, I'm just hyped to see Luke back in action. Old Ben Kenobi still dueled in A New Hope. Why can't Luke at his age?

With an official image of Luke holding it in a poster, I have a feeling that the last trailer for TLJ will finally show him with the lightsaber. Even if he doesn't duel after he meets Rey, there's a good chance that we'll see Luke fighting with a saber in a flashback of Kylo Ren's siege.

I'm just crossing my fingers that he makes it out alive in this film.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out Dec. 15.
