Lucasfilm Teams Up With 5 Major Brands to Promote Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Lucasfilm is joining forces with some major brands for their Rogue One: A Star Wars Story promotional campaign, Comic Book reports. The brands chosen are Duracell, Verizon, General Mills, Nissan, and Gillette. The promotional campaign will be a global one.

The general manager of Lucasfilm, Lenwyn Brennan, spoke about the campaign. "We are extremely pleased to be working with such a remarkable group of promotional partners for Rogue One. This first in a series of Star Wars standalone films represents an exciting new era for both Star Wars and Lucasfilm, and the partners joining us on this exciting journey have each designed a stellar campaign capturing the spirit and camaraderie of Rogue One."

The companies are going to do "featured campaigns" for the movie, rather than just tie-in products. However, considering the companies involved, one can take a guess at what tie-in products will happen. We will likely see Rogue One related cell phone products, automobile products, razors, battery products and food products.

This naturally won't be the first time Star Wars has had a major promotional campaign. Star Wars: The Force Awakens products were all over the place last year. Hopefully for Lucasfilm, the Rogue One campaign will be just as sucessful as that one was.
