Lucasfilm Reportedly Created A Trailer For Phil Lord And Chris Miller’s Version Of Solo Spinoff

Original Solo: A Star Wars Story directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller might have been sacked from the project while they were deep into production, but rumor has it that a trailer for Lord and Miller's version of the film actually exists.

According to a report by Screen Crush, sources say that Lucasfilm had actually created a Solo trailer out of the footage Lord and Miller shot for the film, saying the studio was preparing the video for last year's Star Wars Celebration. However, Solo mysteriously dropped out of the event, and according to the publication's source, the trailer was shelved because Lucasfilm wasn't too happy with the material.

Last year, Lucasfilm decided to part ways with Lord and Miller because they weren't too happy with the directors work on the Star Wars spinoff. Though the studio wanted something new, the 21 Jumpstreet directors pushed Star Wars boundaries, adding in too much improvisation and allegedly aiming for a Guardians of the Galaxy vibe for Solo.

The shake-up brought a lot of anxiety to the Star Wars fanbase with many worrying that the separation would cause problems for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Luckily, Lucasfilm managed to nab Ron Howard a few days after firing Lord and Miller and the director's work has managed to assuage some of the fans' concerns over the film.

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits cinemas May 25.
