Loki Disney+ Series Gets Brand New Working Title

Marvel is gearing up for production on the new Disney+ series Loki, and it looks like the studio has a new working title for the project.

Production Weekly previously listed the new Marvel project under the working title "River Cruise," now, according to the site (via ComicBook.com), the show is going to go into production under the name "Architect." We're not entirely sure why the name has changed and how it's going to affect the project, but we're excited to see Loki begin development.

Loki, as the name implies, promises the return of Tom Hiddleston as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Asgardian God of Mischief. Sure, Loki might have died at the hands of Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Infinity War, however, in Avengers: Endgame an alternate universe version of the character managed to nab the Space Stone. The new Loki series is going to follow that alternate universe version of Loki, showcasing the different shenanigans the anti-hero finds himself in while using the Space Stone to travel across time.

Interestingly enough, aside from Hiddleston, British actress Sophia Di Martino has also been cast in the new Marvel series, and word has been going around that the Yesterday star is going to play a female version of everyone's favorite Asgardian God of Mischief.

MCU fans might not be familiar with the female version of Loki, but the anti-hero is known for transforming into the female version of himself from time to time in the comics.

Right now we're not entirely sure whether we'll see Loki transform or whether he'll happen across a female version of himself in his adventures in the series, but either way, we're excited.

Loki has yet to receive a release date, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
